HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2012 – the year of the London Olympics: what does it mean for you? The start of a new journey?
What do you want? If you haven’t worked out your goals (financial or otherwise) you will find it very difficult to feel a sense of having achieved them.
Now is the time to sit down, with your partner if you have one, and work out what it is that you would like to do with their lives, and when. Of course, such important objectives will not all be financial – nor should they be – but there is a financial element to a surprising number of things. Holidays, houses, income in retirement, piano lessons for little Johnnie, retraining for a new career, long term care in old age – they all cost money and we need to make a plan to amass the funds to pay for them.
Work out what is important to you and what you want to do in life. If you have it all worked out, you are far more likely to have the motivation to do what’s required to achieve your goals and to enjoy the satisfaction of making progress along the way.
Sort out your goals, get a plan and get organised!
